Bad Times Great Cast

Ok, this is a step away from what I usually write about. Give me a comic book character, a wizard, some sci fi and I can talk to you all day. However last night I got a chance to see, Bad Times at the El Royale, and I have to say it was a pretty entertaining movie. I honestly didn't know what to expect. Is it a thriller? Is it campy? Is there a killer running loose? I don't want to spoil the movie for anyone itching to see it so I'll just say do yourself a favor and give it a chance. I think the breakout star of the movie is Cynthia Erivo, having seen her on Broadway last year in The Color Purple, I was excited to see what she would bring to the cast. She plays a background singer that finds herself at the El Royale and of course each time she opens her mouth to sing its heaven. Initially I thought she'd be kind of a throw away background character so I was happy to see that she wasn't. The cast of this movie shines, Jeff Bridges, Dakota Johnson, Jon Hamm, Lewis Pullman and Chris Hemsworth compile a great ensemble of characters and you never quite know where the movie is taking you. I'd say its definitely worth a trip to the theater.
